The New Conservative Party insisted that the IIPC should be limited to an advisory body, while within the conservative camp, attempts at party-to-party integration between the New Conservative Party and the Liberty Korea Party were criticized as a "return to Saenuri Party."
At the first IIPC meeting held on the 14th at the National Assembly Members' Office Building, Jisangwook, a New Conservative Party lawmaker, stated in his opening remarks, "I understand the efforts made by various lawmakers in the IIPC so far, but from our standpoint, it would be better to start from a blank slate," emphasizing, "It is appropriate to discuss the official name, roles, functions, and content of this group."
He added, "If the nature of the IIPC so far was a joint meeting of civic groups, now it is understood as a stepping stone and advisory body aiming to enter the real world of politics," and "What is decided here must be approved by the parties, and it is not something we can decide solely among ourselves here."
In response, Song Geun-jon, a former Gwangjang lawyer appointed as the Integration Promotion Chairman of the 'Forward for the Future Party' led by independent lawmaker Lee Eon-ju, also criticized the integration of the New Conservative Party and the Liberty Korea Party, which has been labeled as "return to Saenuri Party," by stating in his opening remarks, "If the public perceives the integration as a 'return to ㅇㅇㅇ,' we will not be able to gain votes."
Jung Kyung-mo, vice chairman of the Preparatory Committee for the People's Voice Party, attending on behalf of Jang Ki-pyo, chairman of the same committee, said, "Integration is just, but it should not be a simple integration; it must reflect new values and the spirit of the times," adding, "While the integration of the Liberty Korea Party and the New Conservative Party is very important, the public does not want conservative integration to become a return to Saenuri Party."

When the IIPC was formed last week, I deeply felt that many citizens want a strong tool to judge the reckless regime," he said. He continued, "The reason the public does not give their hearts to conservatives is that there has been no conservative innovation, and instead of saying 'my fault,' they shouted 'your fault,'" adding, "We must practice innovation and integration with a posture of intense self-reflection and introspection."

Chairman Park stated, "The integrated new party we are about to launch here must shed the old image of the past and be able to look to the future. We must not make the mistake of burying ourselves in the chasm of interests and emotions," and "From today, through intensive discussions to create the integrated new party, we will do our utmost to determine what standards and principles it should be built on, and how to unite people who fit these rules."
