Kyochon Chicken Sold an Average of 110 Chickens per Franchise Daily Last Year
Among Chicken Franchise Businesses Registered with the Fair Trade Commission, Highest Average Sales per Franchise Store
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Seon-ae] Kyochon F&B announced on the 14th that, based on last year's franchise store sales data, each franchise store sold an average of about 110 chickens per day.
As of December last year, among the 1,150 Kyochon Chicken stores nationwide, 622 stores sold more than 100 chickens per day on average, exceeding 54%. Among these, 84 stores sold more than 200 chickens per day on average.
Among chicken franchises registered under the Fair Trade Commission's franchise business transactions, Kyochon Chicken also has the highest sales per franchise store. The annual sales per Kyochon Chicken franchise store amounted to approximately 618.27 million KRW (as of 2018), which is more than three times higher than the average sales per registered chicken franchise store of about 189.28 million KRW. This also represents a growth of over 47% compared to 419.46 million KRW in 2014 over four years.
Sales and sales volume per franchise store are indicators that reflect the actual competitiveness of a franchise brand, unlike headquarters sales, which are proportional to the number of stores.
The main factor behind the high sales of Kyochon Chicken franchise stores is the product quality of its signature menus. Kyochon Chicken's signature menus include three series: the ‘Kyochon Series,’ the ‘Red Series,’ and the ‘Honey Series.’ First, the garlic soy sauce-based ‘Kyochon Series’ has been Kyochon's bestseller since its establishment. The savory taste of the sauce made from domestic whole garlic and fermented soy sauce continues to captivate customers' palates even after many years. The spicy ‘Red Series’ has a loyal fan base. Using a sauce squeezed from domestic Cheongyang red chili peppers instead of artificial capsaicin, it is praised among enthusiasts as having a ‘deliciously spicy taste.’
Recently, the ‘Honey Series’ has risen as another bestseller product of Kyochon Chicken. Using domestic acacia honey instead of farmed honey, it has captivated customers' taste buds with its so-called sweet and salty (sweet yet salty) umami flavor. Last year, more than 13 million units of the Honey Series were sold, recording the highest sales volume at Kyochon.
