Samsung Electronics Acquires US Network Service Provider 'Teleworld Solutions'
Incorporated as a Subsidiary of Samsung Electronics' U.S. Corporation
Supporting Expansion of Network Construction Using 5G Network Solutions
[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] Samsung Electronics has acquired TeleWorld Solutions, a US-based network service and consulting company.
On the 14th, Samsung Electronics announced that it has acquired TeleWorld Solutions in the US to support the construction of 5G networks and improve service quality, incorporating it as a subsidiary of Samsung Electronics America.
TeleWorld Solutions (TWS), headquartered in Virginia, USA, is a network service provider offering network design, testing, and optimization services to local mobile and cable operators as well as equipment OEMs. TWS possesses capabilities in network installation, testing, optimization, as well as radio frequency (RF) and network design. Samsung Electronics will be able to provide services necessary for 5G network construction to its clients by utilizing TWS's services.
Jeon Kyung-hoon, Vice President of Samsung Electronics' Network Business Division, stated, "The acquisition of TWS will meet the demands to improve 4G and 5G networks and ultimately create opportunities to enhance services for customers. Samsung Electronics will drive innovation in communication technology by providing network construction optimization services that can accelerate the expansion of 5G networks in the US."
Shalvin Jerami, CEO of TeleWorld Solutions, said, "For 5G to establish itself in the US market, it is necessary to scale up and innovate communication technology. By joining forces with Samsung Electronics, we will accelerate innovation and meet enterprise customers' demands for network strategy, deployment, and automation."

Currently, 5G networks are available only in some cities in the US, and there is high demand for network infrastructure design and optimization required for 5G network construction. Samsung Electronics is expanding 5G networks in cooperation with US mobile carriers such as AT&T. Samsung Electronics has invested over $30 billion in the US, employing 20,000 people, and is improving productivity by establishing a 5G-based smart factory at its semiconductor plant in Austin, Texas.
