View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Dongjak-gu (Mayor Lee Chang-woo) is promoting the ‘2020 Senior Job and Social Activity Support Project’ to support the healthy and active aging life of the elderly.
This project is divided into three fields: ‘Public Interest Type,’ which has a volunteer nature for promoting community welfare; ‘Social Service Type,’ which provides services utilizing experience and capabilities; and ‘Private Type,’ which combines market type and employment referral type.
The Public Interest Type is open to anyone aged 65 or older residing in the area who receives the basic pension, and those working more than 30 hours per month can receive 270,000 KRW. It includes 41 projects such as the No-No Care project supporting the lives of elderly living alone and the Nodeul Clean Volunteer Group maintaining the environment of back roads.
The Social Service Type includes two projects: daycare assistant support and senior teachers at study rooms. Any resident aged 65 or older can apply, and a salary of about 590,000 KRW is paid based on 66 hours per month.
The Private Type project targets residents aged 60 or older, with salaries applied differently according to labor contracts. Six projects will be conducted, including market-type projects like Happy Sharing Bakery and Happy Plus Cafe, and employment referral-type projects linking to jobs.
The project period is from January to December, recruiting a total of 3,360 participants across 49 projects.
The district completed the first recruitment for Public Interest and Market Types last December and is accepting applications for the second Social Service Type until the 23rd.
Additionally, from the 22nd to February 14th, a third recruitment announcement for Public Interest Type participants will be conducted.
Applications can be made at each community service center and project implementing agency. For each project’s application office, information can be found on the ‘District Homepage Recruitment Information’ section or by contacting the Job Policy Division (☎820-9351).
Jo Jin-hee, head of the Job Policy Division, said, “We hope this senior job project will be an opportunity to catch both health and income,” and “We ask for active participation from interested seniors.”
