View original image[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Seo Young-seo] On the 19th, it was announced that Dopomyeon, Yeongam-gun, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Lee Young-hyun) conducted safety education for 100 elderly participants in the 2020 Senior Job Project at the meeting room on the 2nd floor of the township office on the 7th.
On this day, the education focused on preventing safety accidents, precautions during activities, and work rules. It also included stretching methods for the health management of the elderly, safety usage of gas, electricity, and fire extinguishers at senior centers, traffic safety education such as precautions when operating electric vehicles and adult strollers.
Additionally, various social welfare projects were introduced, including the 2020 senior voucher usage guide, support for senior center food expenses, solar power installation support projects for senior centers, support projects for adult walkers for the elderly, emergency support projects, as well as major county administration promotions such as population increase policies and participation in environmental maintenance to make Yeongam clean and pleasant.
This year’s Senior Job Project is expected to play a significant role in creating income for the elderly and providing opportunities for social participation by involving them in jobs such as local community environment improvement, senior restaurant assistants, and senior center assistants for a total of 11 months until the end of December, leading to a vibrant life.

Lee Young-hyun, Mayor of Dopomyeon, emphasized that health and safety are the top priorities for elderly participants in the job project, stating, “In particular, I hope that the village senior centers become places of harmony for residents in a clean and pleasant environment,” and urged them to “do their best in their respective fields.”
