Mando Autonomous Driving Video Wins Finalist Award at Seoul Video Advertising Festival
[Asia Economy Reporter Suyeon Woo] Mando's autonomous driving video has been recognized for its innovation by winning consecutive awards at the 2019 advertising festivals.
On the 10th, Mando announced that its autonomous driving video "Quick Reflexes Are Skill" won the Grand Prize at the 2019 & Award on the 9th.
The & Award is a digital industry awards ceremony hosted by the Korea Digital Enterprise Association and sponsored by the Ministry of Science and ICT. The ceremony selects digital media and video advertisements that demonstrate the most innovative designs and systems. Mando won the Grand Prize awarded to 41 works among the nominees.
Earlier, on the 7th, Mando also won the Grand Prize at the 2019 Seoul Video Advertising Festival with the same video. Started in 2003, the Seoul Video Advertising Festival is the world's first online and offline video advertising festival. About 370,000 netizens and advertisers vote to select the winners. Mando's autonomous driving video was selected as a finalist among about 5,500 submissions, with only around 100 works chosen.
The award-winning video dynamically captures Mando's autonomous vehicle "Hockey" recognizing and following lane markings sprayed from two racing motorcycles running ahead in real time. The scene where the car stops immediately in response to an unexpected situation during driving demonstrates the core features of autonomous driving technology: perception, judgment, and control.
