Lee said, “The structural problem in our country’s current job market is underemployment. This occurs because people fail to commit to the jobs they choose or do not strive to improve their skills,” and explained, “The average job tenure of 4.8 years as of 2018 (Statistics Korea’s December 2019 report ‘2018 Job Administrative Statistics’) is presumed to be due to mismatched aptitudes or lack of capabilities.”
He added, “We will make every effort to actively attract government projects linked to youth, such as the ‘Region-led Youth Job Project’ led by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, so that young people can settle and grow in the region.”
