"'Cause Unknown' Pneumonia: First Suspected Patient in Korea in Stable Condition"
[Asia Economy Reporter Cho Hyun-ui] The Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC) announced on the 9th that the condition of the first suspected domestic patient showing symptoms similar to the unexplained pneumonia spreading in Wuhan, Hubei Province, China, is stable.
According to the KCDC, the patient currently under isolation treatment has no fever, and chest radiograph findings show improvement in pneumonia.
As of the previous day, epidemiological investigation identified 29 contacts. The KCDC is monitoring them through the relevant public health center, and no unusual findings have been reported so far.

Laboratory test results to identify the causative pathogen of the patient ruled out SARS as negative. Additional tests are currently underway, and results are expected to take more than a week. A KCDC official stated, "We are continuously monitoring the latest overseas trends, including those from the World Health Organization (WHO) and China."
