Portable SSDs are external storage devices based on NAND flash memory, offering superior speed and stability compared to traditional external HDDs (hard disk drives), while being smaller and lighter in weight.
Samsung Electronics' portable SSD 'T7 Touch' is equipped with the highest-performance 5th generation 512-gigabit (Gb) V-NAND and an ultra-fast NVMe controller interface.
This enables read and write speeds of 1050MB/s and 1000MB/s, respectively, which are up to 9.5 times faster than external HDDs (110MB/s) and about twice as fast as its predecessor (Samsung Electronics' portable SSD 'T5').
In particular, the 'T7 Touch' features fingerprint recognition security comparable to flagship smartphones, allowing registration of up to four fingerprints, and also supports the traditional password method for added convenience.
Additionally, it uses 256-bit AES (Advanced Encryption Standard) hardware encryption to securely protect data from hacking threats.
With enhanced performance and innovative security features, the 'T7 Touch' received the Innovation Award at the world's largest electronics exhibition, CES 2020.
The 'T7 Touch' is available in three capacities?2TB (terabytes), 1TB, and 500GB (gigabytes)?and two colors, black and silver, supporting the USB 3.2 (Gen 2) NVMe interface.
It boasts excellent portability with a size comparable to a business card and a slim thickness (85 x 57 x 8 mm), as well as a lightweight aluminum body (58g for the 2TB model), and durability that can withstand shocks from drops up to 2 meters.
Two types of USB cables (Type C to A, Type C to C) are provided, allowing easy connection not only to PCs and smartphones but also to tablets, console game devices, and various other gadgets.
