If the personnel plan is finalized, an announcement regarding the appointments of senior prosecutors is expected as early as the afternoon of the same day.
According to the legal community on the 8th, the Ministry of Justice convened the Prosecutor Personnel Committee at the Government Complex Gwacheon from 11 a.m. to discuss promotions and transfers of senior prosecutors. The committee, chaired by lawyer Lee Chang-jae, a former Deputy Minister of Justice, consists of a total of 11 members: three prosecutors, two judges, two lawyers, two law professors, and two external members.
Lee Chang-jae, chairman of the Prosecutor Personnel Committee, arrived at the Ministry of Justice at the Government Complex Gwacheon around 10:46 a.m. When asked by reporters about the scale of the personnel changes and the discussion content, Chairman Lee briefly replied, "We will carefully deliberate the agenda," before heading into the building.
The Prosecutor Personnel Committee was originally scheduled to be held on the 6th but was postponed once due to the schedules of the committee members. However, it was reconvened immediately after the official meeting between Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-youl and Minister of Justice Choo Mi-ae the day before.

In July of last year, the Ministry of Justice held the Prosecutor Personnel Committee in the morning and announced the personnel results for 39 senior prosecutors that same afternoon. Therefore, if the personnel plan is finalized as is this time, it is highly likely that the announcement will be made promptly in the afternoon.
However, since Minister Choo has not yet gone through the process of hearing Prosecutor General Yoon's opinions regarding the personnel matters, the timing of the finalization may change. It is known that the Ministry of Justice is currently conducting a procedure to receive opinions from Prosecutor General Yoon regarding the personnel matters simultaneously with the committee meeting. At present, it is likely that the opinions related to the personnel plan are being conveyed at the working level without a face-to-face meeting between Minister Choo and Prosecutor General Yoon.

The Ministry of Justice is reportedly planning to fill eight vacant positions at the level of chief prosecutors or higher in this personnel reshuffle. If new chief prosecutors and high prosecutors are promoted, a chain movement of chief prosecutors nationwide will be inevitable.
