Sim Sang-jung, leader of the Justice Party, announced at a press conference held at the National Assembly on the 8th, "Today, we begin recruiting the citizen electorate for the selection of proportional representation candidates." This means they have adopted an open primary system that reflects the will of the citizens.
The citizen electorate has been named "People Who Change the Board." The late Assemblyman Roh Hoe-chan gained attention in the 2004 general election by saying, "Good meat does not taste good if placed on a burnt grill. The grill must be changed." The slogan for the citizen electorate is "Change the Board Now, Replace the National Assembly with My Own Hands."
The recruitment period lasts until the end of this month. Applications can be submitted directly or through a proxy to the metropolitan city and provincial party offices nationwide, as well as online or via ARS.

Leader Sim said, "From today, the Justice Party will embark on a 'Great Journey to Change the Political Board,'" adding, "The Justice Party will create the first parliamentary negotiation group among progressive parties through an election system that reflects public sentiment." He continued, "We will boldly return the proportional nomination rights given by the people back to the people. We will provide microphones and platforms to immigrants, irregular workers, people with disabilities, and countless unnamed citizens who have been excluded from politics for decades."
