View original image[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Seo Young-seo] Mokpo National University Institute for Educational Innovation and Development (Director Oh Jang-geun) announced on the 7th that on the 3rd at 11 a.m., it held the '2019 SM-ART UCC Contest Awards Ceremony and Screening of Excellent Works' with 21 students participating in the multipurpose study room on the 3rd floor of Plaza 60 on campus.
This contest is an extracurricular program newly launched from the second semester of the 2019 academic year. It was designed to discover talented students who represent the MIC (Mobile, Impeachment, Connection) generation, who can read the flow of social change and communicate with the world through videos.
The SM-ART UCC Contest featured a total of 24 works with 62 participants on themes such as documentaries, V-logs, local culture promotion, and stories about the value of life. Among them, one team won the grand prize, two teams won excellence awards, and five teams won encouragement awards, with a total of nine teams and 25 students honored.
Kim Soon-gyu, a department head at Mokpo MBC who participated as a judge, said, "Good works naturally reveal 'item, format, and composition,' and some works are worthy of being evaluated at a considerable level." He also provided tips on video shooting, including methods for producing content in the form of one-person media and V-logs, interview composition, and ways to reduce mistakes.

Oh Jang-geun, director of the Institute for Educational Innovation and Development, said, "Each work had a theme and conveyed its message through video, fully reflecting the concerns, thoughts, and values of Mokpo National University students, which made watching them enjoyable throughout." He promised continuous operation of the contest in the future.
