Pay the Environmental Improvement Charge Annually and Receive a 10% Discount
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Seo Young-seo] Yeongam-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 7th that it is accepting applications for the annual prepayment of the automobile environmental improvement charge imposed on diesel vehicles, which offers a 10% discount if paid in a lump sum, until the 31st.
The environmental improvement charge is imposed twice a year in March and September, and if you apply for the annual prepayment (lump sum payment), you can receive a 10% discount on the total charge amount.
This year's annual prepayment application period has been changed from March to January according to the revised Environmental Improvement Cost Burden Act last year.
The eligible vehicles are diesel vehicles registered in Yeongam-gun (excluding low-emission vehicles), and the applicable period is from July last year to June 30 of this year. Vehicles with ownership changes, cancellations, scrapping, or other changes during the period, or those scheduled for such changes, are excluded from eligibility.

Applications for the annual prepayment of the environmental improvement charge can be made through the local tax electronic payment system, WETAX, or by visiting or calling the nearest eup/myeon office or the Environmental Conservation Division of the county office.
