[Asia Economy Reporter Jin-gyu Lee] In December last year, the most used video service app among Android smartphone users in Korea was found to be 'YouTube.'
App and retail analysis services WiseApp and WiseRetail announced on the 7th the status of video service apps most used by Koreans based on Android smartphones in Korea as of December last year.
As of December last year, the video service app most used by Koreans (monthly active users) was YouTube, with 33.68 million users. The second place was 'TikTok' with 3.4 million users, and the third was 'Netflix' with 3.21 million users. This was followed by 'Wavve', 'U+ Mobile TV', 'Naver TV', and 'AfreecaTV' in order.
The app Koreans spent the longest time on (total time users stayed on the app) was also YouTube, with a total of 48.9 billion minutes used. Second was Netflix with 1.3 billion minutes, and third was Wavve with 1.1 billion minutes. TikTok, AfreecaTV, U+ Mobile TV, and 'Twitch' followed.

Meanwhile, WiseApp and WiseRetail conducted a sample survey of 40,000 Android smartphone users nationwide over the past month. The survey targeted video service apps registered in the Google Play video player/editor and entertainment categories.
