At the Supreme Council meeting held at the National Assembly that day, Lee said, "The Liberty Korea Party completely ignored the people again this year without any reflection on paralyzing the National Assembly throughout last year. We can no longer wait."
He emphasized, "Starting with the submission of the prosecution and police investigation authority adjustment bill, we must handle 180 pending livelihood bills including the three kindergarten-related laws," adding, "The Liberty Korea Party should not show the public another disgraceful scene through illegal violence and disruption of the meeting."
However, Lee said, "We will keep the door to dialogue open until the end," and requested, "(The Liberty Korea Party) please regain your reason as a political party and fulfill your role in the National Assembly."
Regarding the confirmation hearing of Prime Minister nominee Chung Sye-kyun, Lee said, "Candidate Chung, who served as the Speaker of the National Assembly, made a decision after much deliberation to accept the prime minister position for the sake of livelihood and national unity," and added, "I hope the opposition party refrains from reckless smear campaigns or baseless political attacks."

Lee said, "I intend to request the Speaker Moon Hee-sang to convene the plenary session, but before that, I will make one more effort to reach an agreement on the legislative schedule between the ruling and opposition parties," adding, "If the ruling and opposition parties can smoothly handle livelihood and reform bills through dialogue and compromise, nothing could be better."
He stated, "We will firmly respond to the Liberty Korea Party's stalling negotiations," and said, "We cannot just wait endlessly to complete prosecutorial reform. If the Liberty Korea Party clings to meaningless stalling, we will have no choice but to take very firm measures."

Regarding the Liberty Korea Party's opposition to candidate Chung's appointment, Lee said, "It is very regrettable that they expressed opposition to the prime minister's confirmation before the confirmation hearing was held. It is like setting the answer beforehand and then posing the question," and added, "I hope that this time, the confirmation hearing can fulfill its original purpose of verifying capability and qualifications."
