View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] Hwang Kyo-ahn, leader of the Liberty Korea Party, officially declared his candidacy in a challenging district ahead of the general election and appealed for support.
On the 4th, Hwang stated on his Facebook, "I will go to a district even more challenging than a tough one."
He reflected on the past year, saying, "It has already been a year since I started politics. I knew it would be a difficult path, and I vowed never to waver. I became the party leader to establish proper values and beliefs that can help the party stand upright." He added, "I have worked to build a party with strong values and philosophy, which leads to strong policies and vision, and thus can unify and achieve victory."
Hwang said, "I fought desperately against the worst Moon Jae-in administration. At the edge of the cliff for a free Republic of Korea, I risked everything to protect it." He declared, "Now, ahead of the general election, I will go to a tough district. If the people want, I will go to a district even tougher than that. I have nothing to fear."

He appealed, "I will choose the path where one must lose to gain. I will take the path where one must die to live. That is the way to protect our precious values, the way we want, and the way we walk together." He concluded, "On that path, I will be reborn as a new Liberty Korea Party. I will surely achieve both innovation and unity. Please join me."
