Fire Breaks Out on a Hillside in Haenam, Jeonnam... Firefighting and Forestry Authorities Extinguish
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Kim Chunsu] A fire of unknown cause broke out in a mountain area in Gyegok-myeon, Haenam-gun, Jeollanam-do, but it did not spread into a large blaze.
According to the Haenam Fire Station in Jeollanam-do on the 4th, at around 2:50 PM that day, a fire of unknown origin occurred in the mountain area of Seongjin-ri, Gyegok-myeon, Haenam-gun, Jeollanam-do.
To extinguish the fire, firefighting and forestry authorities reportedly deployed two helicopters and about ten fire trucks to carry out suppression efforts.
Haenam-gun reported that by around 4:10 PM, the large flames were controlled, burning 0.5 hectares of forest land, and the fire was completely extinguished by approximately 6:40 PM.
