Gwangju Chamber of Commerce and Industry Successfully Holds 2020 New Year's Meeting

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] The Gwangju Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Chairman Jeong Chang-seon) announced that on the 3rd at 10:30 a.m., it held the ‘2020 New Year's Meeting’ at the Kim Dae-jung Convention Center, attended by about 600 people including Gwangju Mayor Lee Yong-seop, Jeonnam Provincial Government Political Deputy Governor Yoon Byung-tae, local members of the National Assembly, heads of organizations, and businesspeople, to express hopeful aspirations for the new year and pledge dedication.
On this day, attendees agreed to unite their will to lead the 2020s through innovative growth and win-win cooperation in the Year of the Rat.
In his New Year's address, Chairman Jeong Chang-seon said, “Last year was a difficult year nationally, but there was much hopeful news in Gwangju and Jeonnam,” adding, “Among them, the commencement of construction on Urban Railway Line 2, the successful hosting of the World Swimming Championships, and the groundbreaking ceremony of Gwangju Global Motors played a significant catalytic role in regional development.”
He also emphasized the great significance of the news about the lifting of development restrictions on the AI-centered complex and securing the budget, confirming that Gwangju will become the central city of South Korea’s AI industry.
