Chairman Yoon stated on the 1st of this month at the New Year ceremony attended by over 500 executives, employees, and family company presidents, “Despite the difficult business environment last year, we were the first in the industry to implement ‘DDAP Membership,’ launched the global chicken series ‘Vampire Chicken’ targeting the 2030 generation, and boldly made strategic investments such as opening the ‘Helio City Branch’ equipped with digital IT technology suitable for the 4th industrial era, continuing the history of innovation.”
He continued, “Although our executives and employees’ efforts for this innovative growth improved performance compared to 2018, it seems regrettable that it did not meet our initial expectations,” and urged, “This year, all employees must execute the management plan and definitely achieve the set management goals.”
In particular, Chairman Yoon emphasized, “In 2020, let us become an exponential company and realize ‘Again Great BBQ,’ laying the foundation to complete the world’s largest and best franchise group and a millennium company by opening 50,000 global franchise stores by 2025.”
Genesis BBQ Group plans to pursue ‘innovative growth’ and thoroughly manage risks in advance to achieve ‘risk zeroization’ in 2020. By continuously introducing and applying digital IT suitable for the 4th industrial revolution, such as AI marketing using membership data and menu planning using big data, the group will achieve ‘innovative growth’ as the first franchise group to do so.
Along with innovative growth, in the financial sector, the group aims to eliminate various errors that can occur during manual data entry to improve work accuracy and preemptively remove management risks. By introducing robots in stores, they plan to reduce labor costs, prevent mistakes in the cooking process, and protect employees from injuries caused by high-temperature cooking processes, thereby achieving risk zeroization.

Iksan Yeongdeung Branch received the ‘Best New Menu (Vampire Chicken) Sales Award,’ Busan Suyeong Branch was awarded the ‘Sales Growth Excellence Award’ for increasing sales by 70% compared to the previous year, Pohang Central Branch, operating three stores in the Pohang area, received the ‘Mega Franchise Operation Excellence Award,’ and Gwangjang Branch won the ‘Online Channel Review Management Excellence Award’ for active social network service (SNS) marketing.
