Sangjik Lee "Activation of Entrepreneurship Education Center"... New Year's Ceremony at Jinju Jisoo Elementary School
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Daeseop] The Small and Medium Business Corporation (SBC) announced on the 3rd that it held a New Year's ceremony at the site of the former Jisu Elementary School in Jinju, Gyeongnam.
About 300 people attended the event, including Lee Sang-jik, Chairman of SBC, Cho Gyu-il, Mayor of Jinju, and local residents. The event commemorated the Entrepreneurship Education Center to be established on the site of Jisu Elementary School and included a tree planting ceremony.
In particular, a commemorative tree planting was held next to the "Rich Pine Tree," which was planted and nurtured by entrepreneurs who graduated from Jisu Elementary School, including the late Lee Byung-chul, founder of Samsung Group. The hope was expressed that entrepreneurs inheriting the spirit of entrepreneurship would grow into unicorn companies.
Last July, SBC signed a business agreement with Jinju City for the establishment and operation of the Entrepreneurship Education Center on the site of the former Jisu Elementary School. In December of the same year, 1.7 billion KRW in national funds were secured for the remodeling project of the Entrepreneurship Education Center. This year, the Entrepreneurship Education Center will be launched, followed by the establishment of a library, experience center, and history museum.
