US Initial Jobless Claims at 222,000 Last Week
[Asia Economy New York=Correspondent Kim Bong-su] The U.S. Department of Labor announced on the 2nd (local time) that the number of new unemployment insurance claims last week was recorded at 222,000.
This is a decrease of 2,000 from the previous week and the lowest level in the past month. It matched Wall Street experts' expectations. A decrease in unemployment insurance claims means that employment conditions have improved accordingly.
