Yamaguchi Nichikomeido Representative Mentions Possibility of House of Representatives Dissolution Within the Year
NHK "Possibility of Implementation After Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics"
[Asia Economy Reporter Yu Je-hoon] Yamaguchi Natsuo (山口那津男), leader of Japan's Komeito Party, mentioned the possibility of dissolving the House of Representatives within this year, NHK reported on the 2nd. The Komeito Party is a coalition partner with the Liberal Democratic Party.
According to the report, Yamaguchi stated during a street speech in Tokyo, "As the remaining term of the House of Representatives approaches one year, the term of the Liberal Democratic Party president will also come to an end," adding, "Under these circumstances, it cannot be said that there is no possibility of the next challenge in the House of Representatives."
Yamaguchi's remarks are interpreted to mean that since the current term of the House of Representatives and Prime Minister Abe Shinz?'s (安倍普三) remaining term are both less than one year, there is a possibility that Prime Minister Abe may dissolve the House of Representatives and hold a general election within this year.
