Yeonggwang-gun, Inauguration of Hong Seokbong as the 28th Deputy Governor

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jeon Seong] Yeonggwang-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim Junsung) announced on the 2nd that Hong Seokbong, the 28th Deputy Governor, assumed office on the 1st.

Deputy Governor Hong Seokbong, who earned a master's degree from the Graduate School of Agricultural Life Sciences at Chonnam National University, began his public service career in 1985 at Gurye-gun Office.

He has also served in key departments such as the Agricultural Products Division of the Agriculture and Forestry Bureau of Jeollanam-do, the Trade Cooperation Office of the Economic and Trade Bureau, the Investment Promotion Division, and the Audit Office. He held positions including Director of the Seed Management Office at the Agricultural Technology Center, Head of the Eco-friendly Agriculture Division, and Head of the Food and Horticulture Division.

He has received commendations including the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Award for contributions to increasing agricultural trade exports, the Minister of the Interior and Safety Award for contributions to local administrative development, the Prime Minister's Award for exemplary public service, and the Presidential Citation for contributions to national social development.

After his inauguration ceremony on the 31st of last month, he has been actively engaging in understanding current military affairs by visiting institutions, starting with a New Year's visit to the Memorial Tower.

Deputy Governor Hong said, “This year, there are many significant issues such as hosting the Jeollanam-do Residents Sports Festival, the largest sports event in Jeollanam-do, establishing a foundation for the demonstration and expansion of e-mobility regulatory free zone exemptions, building a large-scale wind power demonstration base, creating a youth startup complex, and fostering future food industries. I will do my best to meet the expectations that the residents have for the governor.” He added, “I will create an atmosphere where staff can share opinions without formality and work happily.”
