Gwangju University to Recruit 319 Transfer Students for 2020 Academic Year
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Gwangju University (President Kim Hyuk-jong) announced on the 2nd that it will recruit 319 transfer students for the 2020 academic year.
By selection type, there are 274 general transfers within the quota, 32 bachelor's degree transfers outside the quota, and 13 medical personnel professional associate degree transfers.
Applications will be accepted until 6 p.m. on the 9th, and successful candidates will be announced on the school's website on the 22nd.
Eligibility for general transfer includes graduates (or expected graduates) of junior colleges and those who have completed at least 2 years or 4 semesters at a general university, while bachelor's degree transfer applicants must be graduates of a general university holding a bachelor's degree.
For medical personnel professional associate degree transfer, in the case of the nursing department, applicants must be graduates (or expected graduates) of a 3-year nursing program at a junior college and hold a nursing license. Applicants who took the national exam in January 2020 without a license are also eligible to apply, but must submit their license certificate immediately upon announcement of acceptance.
The occupational therapy department accepts anyone who is a graduate (or expected graduate) of a 3-year occupational therapy program at a junior college.
Meanwhile, Gwangju University offers various scholarship benefits to transfer students. Except for three departments, all enrolled students in other units will receive a full scholarship covering tuition fees for the admission semester, and for the following three semesters, one-third of the tuition will be waived.
The Department of Social Welfare offers a full tuition scholarship for the admission semester and a one-third tuition waiver for one semester, while the Departments of Nursing and Early Childhood Education waive the admission fee.
