Current 5 Bureaus, 1 Division, 1 Officer, 1 Office, 34 Departments → Reorganized into 6 Bureaus, 1 Officer, 1 Office, 34 Departments... Temporary Future Development Promotion Team abolished, Economic Environment Bureau established, focusing on economic revitalization and eco-friendly policies
[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) has launched a reorganization of its administrative structure and organization to efficiently implement key strategic tasks of the district government, officially starting on January 1st with the establishment of the Economic and Environmental Bureau.
The newly reorganized Geumcheon-gu organization has been restructured from the current structure of 5 bureaus, 1 division, 1 officer, and 34 departments at the district office to 6 bureaus, 1 officer, and 34 departments by abolishing 1 division and newly establishing 1 bureau. The number of teams increased by one, from 180 to 181 teams.
With this reorganization, the temporary Future Development Promotion Team was abolished, and the 'Economic and Environmental Bureau' was newly established, consisting of the Regional Economy Division, Job Creation Division, Urban Regeneration Division, Cleaning Administration Division, and Environment Division. This aims to focus on economic revitalization and eco-friendly policies.
Centered on the Gasan Digital Industrial Complex, the bureau plans to lead the growth of enterprises and the local economy, enhance the creation of good jobs, urban regeneration, and the creation of a livable environment for residents.
Additionally, to effectively operate and manage the Siheung 3-dong Health Subcenter, scheduled to open in 2020, the 'Parkmi Subcenter Operation Team' was established within the Health and Medical Division. The district plans to improve service equity for local medical care and health promotion by building infrastructure in health-vulnerable areas, and provide community-based preventive integrated health promotion and management services reflecting local characteristics and resident demands to enhance residents' health.
The names of bureaus and departments were also changed to be more user-centered. Bureau names were changed to 'Welfare and Family Bureau,' 'Planning and Finance Bureau,' 'Urban Safety Bureau,' and 'Transportation and Construction Bureau' to make it easier for residents to understand according to the transfer of affiliated departments. The 'Urban Safety Division' was renamed 'Safety City Division' due to the increasing importance of resident safety tasks.
Departments were adjusted to align with the bureau reorganization. The 'Education Support Division' under the Welfare and Education Bureau moved to the Administrative and Cultural Bureau; the 'Regional Economy Division' from the Planning and Economic Bureau moved to the Economic and Environmental Bureau; the 'Environment Division' from the Urban Environment Bureau moved to the Economic and Environmental Bureau; the 'Real Estate Information Division' from the Urban Environment Bureau moved to the Planning and Finance Bureau; the 'Urban Safety Division' from the Safety and Construction Bureau moved to the Safety City Division under the Urban Safety Bureau; and the 'Cleaning Administration Division' from the Administrative and Cultural Bureau moved to the Economic and Environmental Bureau.
In addition, the 'Distribution Guidance Team' of the Regional Economy Division was renamed the 'Living Distribution Team' to strengthen animal-related field complaints, animal welfare projects, and living distribution tasks, which have increasing demand.
The 'Village Project Team' of the Village Autonomy Division was also renamed the 'Village Ecosystem Team.' This aims to strengthen the creation and support of a sustainable village and autonomy ecosystem led by citizens through expanded citizen participation.
Mayor Yu Seong-hoon said, "This second organizational reorganization of the 7th elected term is being promoted with residents at the center and in a direction that benefits residents. We will continue to carry out district administration for residents through stable institutional settlement and continuous innovation of district administration."
