As global economic uncertainty intensifies and demand for gold, the quintessential safe-haven asset, surges, it has come to light that the logo of the Whisen air conditioner, sold by LG Electronics as a limited edition 20 years ago, was made of pure gold. The gold logo, which was attached as part of a promotional event at the time, is drawing renewed attention amid the recent rise in gold prices, sparking enthusiastic reactions such as "This is true payback" and "LG is the best for home appliances."

"They said it was gold in the advertisement"... Analysis confirms it is pure gold
In the video, the customer presented a piece of gold, explaining, "This is the logo I removed from an LG Whisen air conditioner." He added, "The delivery person at the time also said it was gold, and it was introduced that way in the advertisements." He recalled, "Back then, if you brought this in, they would give you about 10,000 KRW."

When the gold piece brought by the customer was melted and analyzed, it was found to be pure gold. The YouTuber informed the customer, "It's not 18K, it's pure gold," and added, "The weight is just under one don (3.75g), so I can offer you 713,000 KRW."
Another customer also confirmed to have 'pure gold'... Received 750,000 KRW after deducting analysis fee
As the video surpassed 1 million views and became a hot topic, another customer visited the YouTuber on the 15th, saying, "I came after watching the video." The Whisen logo he brought was more intact than the previous customer's.

This customer said, "I once took this logo to a local gold dealer, but they told me, 'There's no certificate and it doesn't seem to be gold.' I almost threw it away, but then I saw the video." He explained that the best way to remove the logo cleanly is to use fishing line to scrape it off.
Upon analysis, this request was also confirmed to be pure gold. The YouTuber said, "It weighed 1.02g, but some gold is lost during melting," and added, "After deducting the analysis fee, you can receive 748,000 KRW."
"LG is the best for home appliances"... Netizens react enthusiastically
Netizens responded passionately, saying, "This is the true payback," "No wonder people say LG is the best for home appliances," "LG's PR team should get to work," "I forgot that LG's predecessor was Goldstar. Gold really is the best," "LG's good stories always exceed expectations," "Scrap dealers nationwide are on alert," "If only I had bought gold back then," and "Things like this are never in my house."
Previously, in 2005, LG Electronics sold air conditioners with pure gold Whisen logos to the first 10,000 customers to commemorate being the world's No. 1 in air conditioner sales for five consecutive years. In 2008, the company also released a limited edition of 10,000 Whisen air conditioners featuring a pure gold nameplate weighing one don (3.75g).
