With the summer vacation and holiday season underway, movie theaters are offering a flood of discount benefits. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced that starting on July 25, a total of 4.5 million "6,000 won movie discount vouchers" will be distributed. There are no restrictions on specific days of the week, and the vouchers can be combined with existing discounts.

They will be issued on a first-come, first-served basis at theaters nationwide starting at 10:00 a.m. on July 25, and distribution will automatically end once the supply runs out. Each person is limited to two vouchers, and they can be used until September 2. Distribution may end early depending on the region, and any remaining vouchers are scheduled to be distributed again in September.
In addition to major multiplexes, independent and art theaters, senior theaters, and small theaters are also offering discount benefits. In principle, vouchers are issued through their websites, but in the case of theaters without such systems, they will be provided on-site on a first-come, first-served basis. The list of participating theaters can be checked on the Korean Film Council website on July 25.
This 6,000 won discount voucher can be combined with existing discount benefits such as "Culture Day" (the last Wednesday of every month), early morning, youth, senior, and disabled discounts. For example, on "Culture Day," the movie admission fee is 7,000 won, and with the voucher, you only need to pay 1,000 won to watch a movie. Please note that even if the discounted amount falls below 1,000 won, you must pay at least 1,000 won. Also, telecom membership discounts cannot be combined, but some affiliated card discounts can be used in conjunction.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism stated, "We hope this discount support will help revitalize movie theaters and provide more people with opportunities to enjoy films." The ministry also announced plans to continue expanding cultural opportunities by reflecting on-site demand and to keep supporting the revitalization of the film industry.
