- Calorie Burn 20 Times Higher Than Walking the Same Distance... A No-Cost Exercise You Can Do Anywhere
-
If you are trying to lose weight and looking for new methods, it has been suggested that regular exercise such as climbing stairs or increasing the number of times you climb stairs each day is beneficial. On the 21st, AP reporter Steven Wade wrote an article-style column stating that stair climbing can be the most effective exercise. According to the article, Lauwi van Houten, Vice President of the International Skyrunning Federation, recommended stair climbing, saying, "Overall, it is true that stair climbing trains the body faster and burns more calories." Several studies show that climbing stairs burns about 20 times more calories than walking on flat ground. Even when going downstairs, about 5 times more calories are burned because muscles work to slow down the body's descent. Dr. Alberto Minetti, a physiologist and biomechanist at the University of Milan, has conducted extensive research on human locomotion, including stair climbing. Dr. Minetti told AP, "(Stair climbing) is an ex

- Namsan Jarak-gil, Making the Heart of Seoul a Place 'Anyone Can Walk'
-
Namsan Jarak Forest Trail is a 5.52 km path that connects the areas surrounding Namsan, including Muhakbong, Daehyeonsan, Geumhosan, and Maebongsan. It is a "freshly opened" trail that was inaugurated last April. Unlike typical mountain or forest trails that are difficult for people with mobility challenges such as wheelchair users due to steep slopes, stairs, or rocks, Namsan Jarak Forest Trail is designed as a "barrier-free forest trail" with no stairs or curbs. This allows people of all ages and abilities, including both disabled and non-disabled individuals, to walk together. Thanks to this, it has been recognized as the most popular policy among the residents of Jung-gu, Seoul. Starting from Muhakbong in Geumho-dong, Seongdong-gu, the entire course leading to Namsan is currently open except for the last section of Namsan (1.11 km). The final section is scheduled to be completed by the end of this year. The starting point, Muhakbong, has two origin stories for its name. One is a l
