Changwon Disabled Organizations Call for Activity Support and Improved Treatment of Care Workers
Disabled organizations in the Changwon area of Gyeongnam have called for support for the activities of people with severe disabilities and for improved treatment of welfare field workers.
On May 13, the Changwon Disabled Rights Advocacy Group held a rally in front of the flower bed at the main gate of Changwon City Hall and marched around Changwon Square, declaring, "Immediately accept the policy demands related to the policies and budgets that sustain the lives of people with disabilities."
The Gyeongnam Changwon Disability Rights Group is marching to Changwon Square during a rally calling for support for severely disabled individuals and improved treatment for welfare field workers.

On this day, they demanded: 24-hour activity support services for people with severe disabilities; full opening of an additional 68 hours of activity support services for people with severe disabilities in Changwon; designation of five district independent living centers for people with disabilities as providers of assistive device repair support projects; and payment of special allowances to social workers employed in disability consignment projects.

They also called for converting the current project-based funding model for disability independence projects into an operating expense system, as well as securing additional budget and manpower.
