In response, the city is providing detailed guidelines on reporting requirements and enforcement standards to help citizens easily understand the process.
Under the current standards of Paju City's resident reporting system, "sidewalk" refers to the sidewalk of a road where the sidewalk and the roadway are separated. Vehicles that park or stop on the sidewalk after encroaching from the roadway are subject to resident reports. In addition, if a vehicle parked on private land, premises, or a parking lot extends over the sidewalk—either with more than half of its length or more than half of its body encroaching onto the sidewalk—it may also be subject to a fine based on resident reports.
Reports can be made through the Safety Report app on a smartphone by submitting two photos taken at the same location (at least one minute apart) that clearly show the vehicle’s license plate and the violation area. In the event of a violation, a fine of 40,000 won is imposed for passenger cars and 50,000 won for vans.
Furthermore, the sidewalk illegal parking resident reporting system, which currently operates 24 hours a day, will be changed to operate from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. starting June 2. The city plans to strengthen its promotional efforts, including distributing informational materials, to prevent confusion among citizens.
