National Heritage Media Art Wins Consecutive Global Design Awards
Korean Pavilion Media Facade at Osaka Expo
Recognized at iF and K-Design Awards
The National Heritage Administration and the National Heritage Promotion Agency announced on May 12 that the media art video from the "National Heritage Visit Campaign" has consecutively won awards at the global design competitions iF Design and K-Design. iF Design is recognized as one of the world's top three design awards, while K-Design is considered one of Asia's top three design awards.
The award-winning work, "Heritage in Bloom: The Beauty of Korea," is a large-scale media facade video that covered the entire exterior wall of the Korean Pavilion at the Osaka-Kansai Expo last year. The piece modernly reinterpreted traditional patterns and colors, and enhanced immersion with visual effects that made the building’s façade appear to expand and transform.
At the iF Design Award, the work was recognized for expressing the symbolism and aesthetic elements of national heritage through contemporary video. At the K-Design Award, it was selected as a "Gold Winner," placing in the top 1.5% of entries.
The campaign video "Time Traveler's Korea – Changdeokgung," featuring actress Jo Boa, also received a Bronze Award in the Digital Creative category at the Korea Digital Advertising Awards.
