The signing ceremony, held the previous day at Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance’s headquarters, was attended by Eoseong Lee, Head of the Healthcare Business Team at Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance, Youngshin Lee, CEO of Sears, and other key officials from both companies.
Through this agreement, Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance and Sears plan to leverage Sears’ digital biomarker monitoring capabilities. The core of the joint business is to commercialize health management services based on precise measurement data collected from wearable devices. In particular, the companies will continue to promote the establishment of an “integrated aftercare platform” that enables more continuous and objective monitoring of customers’ health status, providing support across disease prevention, post-treatment recovery management, and assistance with returning to daily life.
Looking ahead, Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance intends to deliver more reliable services in the non-medical healthcare sector by integrating digital health management solutions with wearable-based health data, and to create a new customer value model where insurance and healthcare are organically connected. Eoseong Lee stated, “This agreement marks the starting point of a new collaborative model that combines insurance and digital healthcare to support customers’ well-being and recovery in daily life. Going forward, we will continue to provide differentiated value as a healthcare partner by proactively managing customers’ health risks and accompanying them throughout their recovery process.”
