Previously, in April, HD Hyundai Heavy Industries signed a contract with AEG to supply data center power generation facilities with a total capacity of 684MW, based on 20MW-class HiMSEN engines.
Recently, the rapid expansion of artificial intelligence (AI) has led to a surge in global data center power demand, making the stability of emergency and commercial power supply systems a key competitive advantage. In particular, as the costs associated with data center downtime grow, the importance of engine maintenance and operational management capabilities is also increasing.
HD Hyundai Marine Solutions plans to use this collaboration as a stepping stone to expand its presence in the North American market, leveraging the performance of HiMSEN engines and its expertise in engine maintenance technology.
Notably, since this collaboration is not limited to simply supplying engines, but is based on long-term service agreements (LTSA) and operation and maintenance (O&M) contracts, HD Hyundai Marine Solutions expects to further strengthen its foundation for high-value-added service businesses capable of generating steady revenue.
