The hospital has established itself not only as a place for treatment but also as a space that unlocks the potential of children. For example, athlete Kim Yoonji, who won five medals at the 2026 Milano Cortina d'Ampezzo Winter Paralympics, nurtured her dream of becoming a sports athlete here by participating in aquatic therapy and swimming classes for rehabilitation.
Supporting Pediatric Medical Infrastructure in the Footsteps of Founder Kim Jungju
Nexon's support for pediatric medical infrastructure began in 2011, when the late founder Kim Jungju contacted the Purme Foundation after reading a donor interview in a newspaper. That year, Nexon donated 1 billion won to fund the establishment of a pediatric rehabilitation clinic, and its employees participated in volunteer activities, such as painting murals at the clinic. Two years later, Nexon donated 20 billion won, which was half of the 44 billion won needed for hospital construction and initial operations.
Since then, Nexon has responded to increasing demand by building regional hospitals. A representative example is the 'Daejeon Sejong Chungnam · Nexon-Sponsored Public Children's Rehabilitation Hospital,' which opened in 2023 in cooperation with Daejeon City. The hospital not only provides rehabilitation treatment but also operates care and experiential programs to help children with disabilities adapt naturally to school and community life.
For children with severe disabilities who cannot visit the hospital due to mobility difficulties or the psychological and physical exhaustion of their caregivers, Nexon also supports Korea's first public program in which medical staff visit the patients directly to provide treatment. To support this, the Nexon Foundation provided 300 million won in initial operational funds in October last year.
Nexon is expanding public children's rehabilitation infrastructure to the Jeonnam and Gyeongnam regions. In November last year, Nexon pledged to donate 5 billion won for the construction of the 'Jeonnam Nexon Public Children's Rehabilitation Medical Center,' which officially opened at that time.
By the end of this year, construction will be completed on the 'Changwon Gyeongsang National University Hospital Gyeongnam Nexon Children's Rehabilitation Hospital (tentative name),' the first public children's rehabilitation hospital in the Gyeongnam region. The Nexon Foundation has pledged to donate 10 billion won for this hospital, which will operate rehabilitation treatment rooms capable of physical, occupational, and robotic therapy, as well as outpatient clinics in rehabilitation medicine, pediatrics, and dentistry. There will also be an educational space so that children who require long-term hospitalization can continue their studies alongside treatment.
Nexon is also establishing medical facilities to support the sustainable daily lives of families with children with disabilities. The 'Seoul National University Hospital Nexon Children's Integrated Care Center' (nicknamed "Dotori House"), which opened in November 2023, is an independent short-term care medical facility for children, built with a 10 billion won donation from Nexon in 2020. Nexon has continued its support even after the center opened.
65.6 Billion Won Donated Over the Past Decade to Guarantee Children's Health Rights
Over the past decade, Nexon has donated a cumulative total of 65.6 billion won to lay the foundation for guaranteeing children's health rights in Korea. Of this amount, 58 billion won was pledged for facility construction, and about 7.6 billion won has been provided as operational support funds for stable operation after opening.
At the heart of these social contribution activities is the Nexon Foundation, a non-profit organization officially launched in 2018 to continue founder Kim Jungju's vision that "children and youth are always the protagonists of society."

Kim Jungwook, Chairman of the Nexon Foundation, said, "Over the past decade, we have seen children's rehabilitation medical facilities established across the country and witnessed children nurturing their dreams within them, which confirms that we have been on the right path. Going forward, Nexon will continue to support the expansion of pediatric medical infrastructure in Korea so that children and their families can maintain both treatment and daily life together."
