This exhibition was planned to broaden opportunities for cultural enjoyment in daily life by displaying the museum’s collection in a hotel space visited by guests from across the country, and to establish a cultural hub that connects to visits for the Gyeonggi Ceramic Biennale, scheduled to open in September.
The exhibition will feature 10 pieces from six artists representing four countries: Korea, the United States, Spain, and Taiwan. Through a variety of genres, including sculpture, painting, and video, the exhibition highlights the expanded possibilities and contemporary sensibilities of ceramic art, aiming to refresh perceptions of traditional ceramics.
Notable works include "Beauty Salon" and "Annoyance," human-figure sculptures by Tip Toland (USA), recipient of the Grand Prize at the 2019 Gyeonggi Ceramic Biennale International Competition, "Untitled" by Spanish artist Enrique Mestre, "Transformation_In Progress" by Icheon-based artist Kim Moonkyoung, and "Color of Wind" by Lee Eunhye. In addition, a large video panel in the Art Lounge will feature the video work "Dream 2" by Taiwanese artist Tsung-ju Li.
