The event brought together a total of about 1,950 students, including approximately 1,400 students from 51 elementary schools and about 550 students from 24 middle schools in the district. The competition was divided into three divisions for elementary schools and separate male and female divisions for middle schools. It featured seven track events (80m, 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1,500m, and 400m relay) and four field events (long jump, high jump, shot put, and javelin throw). The primary focus was to create a venue for harmony where students could fully demonstrate their dreams and abilities.
Min Byeongdo, head of the Gumi Office of Education, stated, "It must have been challenging to organize the competition due to the sudden hot weather, but seeing so many students showcasing their talents and cheering each other on in such a joyful atmosphere has set a wonderful example for the future direction of school sports. I take this opportunity to wholeheartedly support our students' vigorous run and bright future."
