He stressed that Hwangsan serves as the gateway to Hanam and holds significant development potential as a transportation hub for the eastern part of the Seoul metropolitan area.
He further stated, "This area is adjacent not only to Hanam but also to Samsung Engineering in Gangdong District and to high-tech industrial complexes. With a floating population of 100,000 expected in the future, the GTX-D route passing through Hwangsan is essential and must be realized."
In response, Assemblywoman Kim Eun-hye said, "I fully agree and will do my utmost to ensure that the GTX-D route passes through Hwangsan." She explained, "The vice minister in charge at the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport is scheduled to visit this week, so I will strongly request that the GTX-D Hwangsan detour be included in the National Rail Network Plan and will do my best to make it happen."
Meanwhile, candidate Lee has previously stated that his key transportation pledge for the upcoming ninth term of local government is to ensure the GTX-D route and the Hwangsan detour are reflected in the National Rail Network Plan as the top priority.
