Namyangju City Partners with EL Electric to Eliminate EV Charging Blind Spots
Namyangju City in Gyeonggi Province announced on May 20 that it had signed a business agreement with EL Electric Co., Ltd., a local specialized company, to expand electric vehicle charging infrastructure in order to eliminate blind spots in EV charging and create an eco-friendly transportation environment.

View original imageThis agreement was pursued to address the inconvenience caused by the increasing adoption of eco-friendly electric vehicles, expand the charging infrastructure, and contribute to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and improving air quality.
The signing ceremony on the same day was attended by Kim Sangsoo, Acting Mayor of Namyangju City, as well as representatives from EL Electric Co., Ltd.
With this agreement, the city plans to lay the foundation for supplying electric vehicle charging facilities in areas with low profitability, where private operators are reluctant to install them, and to establish a public-private cooperation system for stable operation and maintenance.
EL Electric Co., Ltd. will provide services to ensure that citizens can use the charging facilities without inconvenience by installing charging stations and conducting thorough maintenance.
Kim Sangsoo, Acting Mayor, stated, "Through this agreement, we will combine Namyangju City's administrative capabilities with EL Electric Co., Ltd.'s excellent technology to expand the charging infrastructure," adding, "We will take the lead in achieving carbon neutrality and responding to the climate crisis through these efforts."
The CEO of EL Electric Co., Ltd. said, "We will actively cooperate in building a charging infrastructure that citizens can use safely and conveniently," and added, "We will support the city in leading the transition to eco-friendly mobility through reasonable pricing and thorough maintenance."

Meanwhile, in response to the expansion of electric vehicle adoption and increasing purchase demand, the city is moving forward with its electric vehicle subsidy program for the second half of the year ahead of schedule. Applications for subsidies began on May 13; applications for electric trucks have already closed, but applications for electric passenger cars and electric two-wheelers are still being accepted.
