"No Gaps in Election Security" Gyeongbuk Police Launch Emergency Operations
Situation Rooms Operated at 23 Police Stations
Enhanced Security Measures for Polling and Ballot-Counting Stations
The Gyeongbuk Provincial Police Agency announced on May 20 that, ahead of the 9th nationwide local elections, it has established an 'Integrated Election Security Situation Room' and entered a 24-hour emergency duty system.
The Integrated Election Security Situation Room has been set up simultaneously at the Gyeongbuk Provincial Police Agency and all 23 police stations in the province. It is tasked with real-time management of various incidents, accidents, and unexpected situations that may occur during the election campaign period.
The police plan to concentrate their personnel throughout the entire election process, including protection of candidates, security management of polling and ballot-counting stations, and escorting ballot boxes.
In particular, the agency will strengthen its on-site response system to prepare for potential clashes and illegal activities during the election campaign, and maintain a rapid response system in the event of any incidents.
