"Come See Jindong" ... Changwon Special City to Hold Jindong Fireworks Festival on the 24th
Traditional Fireworks Display Over Gwangam Port
Opening Ceremony at 7:30 p.m.
Changwon Special City in South Gyeongsang Province will hold the "2026 Jindong Fireworks Festival" on May 24 at the Gwangam Port area in Jindong-myeon, Masanhappo-gu, hosted by the Changwon Jindong Nakhwa Nori Preservation Society.
The Changwon Jindong Fireworks Festival is a modern reinterpretation of the traditional Nakhwa Nori event, presenting a unique spectacle for citizens and tourists through firework displays over the sea.
The festival will begin with an opening ceremony at 7:30 p.m., followed by a ritual ceremony and other events. On the day of the festival, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., on-site registration will be available for up to 300 wish papers on a first-come, first-served basis. The collected wish papers will be ignited together with the fireworks display.
This year, in particular, the festival will feature the ignition of fireworks across the waters of Gwangam Port, creating a more three-dimensional and grand visual experience.
