Ulsan City Participates in Germany's 'IMEX Frankfurt'... Launches Global MICE Attraction Efforts
Linking Automotive and Shipbuilding Industries with Marine and Mountain Tourism
Ulsan City is participating in the world's largest exhibition, convention, and tourism convergence industry (MICE) trade fair, aiming to attract international conferences and corporate incentive tours.
Ulsan City announced that it is promoting the competitiveness of its MICE industry at 'IMEX Frankfurt 2026', which is being held in Frankfurt, Germany, from May 19 to May 21.
IMEX is a global MICE-focused trade fair attended by tourism organizations, convention centers, hotels, and travel agencies from around the world. This year, approximately 20,000 participants from 150 countries are expected, with more than 60,000 business meetings anticipated.
At this event, Ulsan City, together with the Ulsan Culture & Tourism Foundation, is operating a Ulsan promotional space within the Korea Pavilion, introducing Ulsan's international conference infrastructure and support systems to more than 40 overseas buyers and international meeting professionals from 20 countries, including Singapore, India, and the United Kingdom.
In particular, Ulsan plans to actively promote its differentiated MICE competitiveness by showcasing not only the Ulsan International Conference District and UECO (Ulsan Exhibition & Convention Center) facilities, but also industrial tourism content leveraging world-class industrial strengths in automotive and shipbuilding, as well as its marine and mountain tourism resources.
Ulsan City is also making efforts to expand the attraction of international and corporate meetings through stay-type tourism products that link industry and tourism. Based on this, the city plans to further strengthen the competitiveness of the international conference district centered on UECO and accelerate the establishment of a foundation for designation as an international conference complex district.
