IKEA Korea Holds 'Hej Run' Running Event in Stores
A 5-Kilometer Run Inside the Store
IKEA Korea announced on May 18 that it held the unique running event 'Hej Run' at its stores on May 16.
The event was held simultaneously at IKEA's Gwangmyeong and Dongbusan stores before opening hours. Approximately 710 IKEA Family members participated, with 350 at the Gwangmyeong store and 360 at the Dongbusan store. Participants ran along a 5-kilometer course connecting the showroom, furniture exhibition area, and self-serve section, experiencing the store in a new way.

View original imageOn the day of the event, participants warmed up and then began the race by passing through a large starting gate shaped like IKEA's iconic hex key assembly tool. Along the course, participants shared high-fives and took photos, enjoying this distinctive running experience throughout the store.
After the run, various interactive programs were offered, such as a photo zone, DIY record poster making, and a stepper challenge. Finishers received commemorative medals, food vouchers, and a limited-edition keyring, while running classes with professional coaches were also held.
