Democratic Party Daegu Mayoral Candidate Kim Boo-gum Appoints Former Suseong Mayor Lee Jin-hoon as Co-Head of Election Campaign Committee... Han Gong-sik and Choi Jae-wang Also Join
On May 15, the Hope Camp for Kim Boo-gum, the Democratic Party candidate for Mayor of Daegu, announced the appointment of former Suseong District Mayor Lee Jin-hoon as Co-Head of the Election Campaign Committee and Chair of the Special Committee on Citizens' Rights, as well as former Deputy Director of Legislation of the National Assembly Secretariat Han Gong-sik and former Daegu Newspaper CEO Choi Jae-wang as Co-Heads of the Election Campaign Committee.
Lee Jin-hoon, former Suseong District Mayor, is a native of Sangju, North Gyeongsang Province. He has served as Director of Planning and Management and Director of Culture, Sports and Tourism at Daegu City Hall, and was twice elected as Mayor of Suseong District. He is recognized for his extensive administrative experience in urban administration and regional development.
Former Mayor Lee explained his decision to join, stating, "I decided to support candidate Kim Boo-gum to bring about healthy change in Daegu's politics and to enhance the sense of urgency in city administration."
Former Mayor Lee assessed that while the Suseong Lake area, which will mark its 100th anniversary next year, has great potential to become a leading tourist attraction in Daegu, there are currently concerns about reckless development and conflicts over citizens' property rights following the sunset law.
He further stated, "I consider Kim Boo-gum the right person to address the issues related to the development of Suseong Lake. I believe he is best suited to transform Suseong Lake into a world-class tourist destination and to defend the suppressed rights of citizens. I will do my utmost to encourage the rational conservative base to choose Kim Boo-gum in this election, as I see it as the last opportunity for Daegu to overcome stagnation."
Meanwhile, former Deputy Director of Legislation of the National Assembly Secretariat Han Gong-sik and former Daegu Newspaper CEO Choi Jae-wang have also joined as Co-Heads of the Election Campaign Committee. Han Gong-sik, a native of Gyeongju, North Gyeongsang Province, graduated from Yeungnam University's College of Law and has served as Director of the National Assembly Secretariat and Deputy Director of Legislation. Choi Jae-wang, a native of Goryeong, North Gyeongsang Province, has served as Chairman of the Korea Water Culture Research Institute and Deputy Editor of Maeil Newspaper.
