Seungjun Kang, Chairman of the Korea Credit Guarantee Fund, emphasized innovation in policy finance through the use of generative artificial intelligence (AI) and big data, expressing his aspiration to strengthen global cooperation.

View original imageOn the 15th, Chairman Kang hosted the "International Forum Commemorating the 50th Anniversary" at The Plaza Hotel in Seoul and remarked, "Many financial institutions are rapidly innovating their credit evaluation, risk management, and customer support methods by leveraging generative AI, big data, and digital platforms." He pointed out, "The core of competitiveness is shifting beyond the capabilities of individual institutions toward open collaboration that shares data, infrastructure, and experience." He continued, "The Korea Credit Guarantee Fund is opening up corporate data to the public and academia and incorporating AI technology into field operations to strengthen data-driven policy finance." He added, "In celebration of our 50th anniversary, the Korea Credit Guarantee Fund will further solidify cooperation on a global scale."
Kwon Daeyoung, Vice Chairman of the Financial Services Commission, delivered congratulatory remarks at the event and called for a forward-looking role from the Korea Credit Guarantee Fund. Vice Chairman Kwon said, "Expectations for KODIT are higher than ever," and emphasized, "Please boldly bet on and support future growth industries." He urged, "If a company operates in advanced strategic industries, is an innovative venture, or has future potential, please support them decisively."
He also stressed the need to discover new growth engines for regional businesses. Vice Chairman Kwon said, "I hope KODIT will become a reliable partner for the regional economy," and added, "We must alleviate the industrial structure concentrated in the capital region." He further suggested, "Please open the path to ‘innovative finance’ that develops both finance and industry—such as pioneering new financial support methods that combine guarantees with equity investment, going beyond the traditional framework of guarantees."
