Songpa-gu in Seoul will host the 'Orange Mushroom Character Seokchon Lake Exhibition Event' for 31 days, from May 22 to June 21, around the east side of Seokchon Lake. This event leverages the intellectual property (IP) of the popular game MapleStory, aiming to provide tourists with a new attraction and to revitalize the local commercial district.

View original imageThe main attraction is the 'Orange Mushroom' art balloon that will float on the east side of Seokchon Lake. This giant installation measures 15 meters in height and 20 meters in width, and together with the adjacent Slime character, forms a photo spot. The exhibition will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., and from 7 p.m. onward, nighttime lighting will blend with the lake's evening scenery.
A 'Seokchon Lake Restaurant MapleStory Prize Event' has also been organized in collaboration with local businesses. The district, in partnership with Lotte, has prepared prizes totaling 30 million won. During the event period, visitors who spend at least 20,000 won at restaurants or cafes near Seokchon Lake—such as Bangi-dong Food Alley and Songridan-gil—on weekends (Saturday and Sunday) can enter the prize draw instantly by presenting their physical receipt. Prizes include Lotte World admission tickets, Lotte Cinema movie tickets, hamburger set and coffee coupons, and MapleStory merchandise (fans).
Additional events will include the Pink Bean Stamp Rally and an AR (Augmented Reality) based Treasure Mushroom Hunting Event. From 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. every hour on the hour, there will be a 'Bubble Shower Time' during which bubbles will rain down from above.
