This initiative was established to revitalize local tourism by supporting actual travel expenses for tourists who plan and enjoy Gapyeong's various tourism resources themselves.
The program is open to both domestic and international tourists residing outside of Gapyeong County, who may apply individually or as teams consisting of 2 to 4 people. Selected participants will travel in Gapyeong for 1 to 3 nights between May 23 and June 14, completing a mission to promote Gapyeong’s tourism resources on their social networking services (SNS) such as blogs, YouTube, or Instagram.
The support benefits include accommodation subsidies of KRW 30,000 per night for individuals, KRW 50,000 for two people, and KRW 70,000 for groups of three to four people, for up to three nights. Experience fees are supported up to KRW 10,000 per person per day for a maximum of three days. Food and beverage expenses, transportation, and shopping costs are excluded.
Tourists wishing to participate must submit a preliminary travel plan via email between 9:00 a.m. on May 14 and 5:00 p.m. on May 21. Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis for up to 40 people, but those who have obtained a Gapyeong County digital tourism resident card or included participating businesses in their travel course will be given priority selection.
Participants are required to visit the "Jarasum Flower Festa" (May 23 to June 14) during their trip and post reviews related to accommodation and experiences on their SNS at least once per day. After completing the trip, participants must submit a travel review and supporting documents within five days, after which the subsidy will be paid within three weeks of submission.
A Gapyeong County official stated, "We hope that many tourists will take part in this challenge, where they can fully enjoy the spring of Gapyeong and receive travel subsidies."
