BTS to Perform at World Cup Final Halftime Show with Madonna and Shakira
To Be Held on July 19 at New Jersey Stadium, New York, USA
Big Hit Music announced on May 14, 2026, that BTS will perform at the halftime show of the 2026 FIFA World Cup final in North and Central America.
On the same day, FIFA revealed that BTS will appear as a co-headliner for the World Cup final halftime show, which will be held at New Jersey Stadium in New York, United States, on July 19. This marks the first time a halftime show will take place during a World Cup final.
BTS will share the stage with pop stars Madonna and Shakira. The show is curated by Chris Martin of Coldplay and will feature characters from Sesame Street and The Muppets.
BTS commented, "Music is a universal language that delivers hope and unity," adding, "It is meaningful to share our message with a global audience and to contribute to expanding educational opportunities for children."
The international civic movement organization Global Citizen will produce the halftime show. The event is being planned to promote the purpose of the 'FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund,' which was established to expand educational opportunities for children in underprivileged regions around the world.
BTS has consistently collaborated with Global Citizen. In 2021, they performed at 'Global Citizen Live,' and member Jungkook took the stage at the 'Global Citizen Festival' in 2023. Jungkook also participated in singing the official soundtrack and performing at the opening ceremony of the 2022 Qatar World Cup.
