According to China's state-run Xinhua News Agency, President Xi emphasized on this day that "China is committed to the stable, healthy, and sustainable development of China-U.S. relations." He added, "This will provide strategic guidance for China-U.S. relations for more than the next three years," and "it will be welcomed by the peoples of both countries and the international community."

President Xi explained that "'constructive strategic stability' should mean positive stability based on cooperation, sound stability amid appropriate competition, normalized stability grounded in manageable differences, and sustainable stability that promises a peaceful future." He underscored that the relationship between the two countries "should not be a mere slogan, but an issue of joint action."
