Gwangju Institute for Industry-Academia Convergence Holds Mobility-AI Industry Consulting and Technology Exchange Event
Discussing Actionable AX Strategies for Immediate Implementation in Manufacturing Processes
A platform for consulting and technology exchange to support the transition of mobility manufacturing companies in the Gwangju region to AI industries has been established.
The Gwangju Institute for Industry-Academia Convergence (Gwangju Industry-Academia Convergence Association) announced on the 13th that it recently held the “Mobility-AI Industry AX Consulting and Technology Exchange” event to support the AI transformation (AX) of local mobility manufacturing companies.
The event was held over two days from the 12th at De Monde Hotel in Damyang, Jeollanam-do, as part of Gwangju City's Opportunity Development Zone project. It was co-hosted by the Gwangju Institute for Industry-Academia Convergence and the Songwon University RISE Project Group. Over 70 participants—including companies from the Future Mobility Council, AI-specialized firms, and officials from related institutions—attended to explore ways to implement AX in manufacturing sites.
On the first day, the 12th, technology seminars were held by companies specializing in AI platform deployment. The seminars focused on three key areas of mobility parts manufacturing: ▲AI-optimized design ▲AI-based manufacturing processes ▲AI-driven quality control, presenting practical AX application cases and solutions.
This event went beyond simple information sharing, placing emphasis on “1:1 customized AX consulting” for companies investing in and participating in Opportunity Development Zones, including Bitgreen National Industrial Complex and Cheomdan 3 District.
AI-specialized firms such as DFMA KOREA, IT IS Co., Ltd., and Lepisod Co., Ltd. discussed actionable AX implementation strategies that could be immediately adopted in actual manufacturing processes together with local manufacturing companies.
Kim Youngman, President of the Gwangju Institute for Industry-Academia Convergence, stated, “With the recent government AX corporate support policies and Gwangju Metropolitan City’s vision as an ‘AI demonstration city,’ it is an urgent time to improve the constitution of the local manufacturing industry.” He added, “In particular, in connection with the designation of the Opportunity Development Zone, we will play a leading role in the AI transformation so that our regional mobility companies can achieve global competitiveness.”
