Participating in Viettel's Major Local Project
LS Eco Energy will supply the power network for a hyperscale artificial intelligence (AI) data center in Vietnam.
On the 14th, LS Eco Energy announced that its Haiphong manufacturing corporation, LS-VINA, will supply power cables for the construction of a hyperscale AI data center by Viettel Group, Vietnam's largest telecommunications company.

This is equivalent to the electricity consumption of 40,000 to 50,000 households simultaneously and is being established to accommodate the growing demand for generative AI and cloud services.
The products being supplied will be used in the power grid between the data center and the substation. As AI data centers operate high-density servers based on graphics processing units (GPUs), resulting in a significant increase in power consumption and heat generation, stable power supply and high-reliability power distribution infrastructure are considered key competitive advantages.
LS Eco Energy has previously supplied bus ducts and transmission cables for hyperscale AI data centers currently being built by global big tech companies in Indonesia and Malaysia. By participating in this Vietnam project, the company has further strengthened its influence in the Southeast Asian AI data center market.
Due to power and land constraints in Singapore, investment demand in the Southeast Asian data center market is being dispersed to countries such as Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam. With the rapid increase in power demand driven by the spread of generative AI, Vietnam is now actively entering the competition to become an AI data center hub.
As the leading wire and cable company in ASEAN, LS Eco Energy is strengthening its dominance in the relevant markets and anticipates additional business opportunities in line with Viettel's expanding AI and telecommunications infrastructure investments in Southeast Asia. In response to rising demand for AI data centers, the company also plans to enhance its optical cable production capabilities in addition to its existing power solutions.
